How it works

What Does the Procedure Involve?

If you've lost more than one tooth — say three teeth in a row — we place two implants and fit a bridge of three teeth on top, giving you a stable, natural-feeling restoration.

Dr. Behrens determines exactly how many implants are required at your initial consultation. After the necessary x-rays, diagnostics, and CT scans, he provides a detailed treatment plan — and answers every question you have before you begin.

Your Treatment, Step by Step

1

Consultation, X-ray & CT Scan

A thorough assessment with x-rays and CT scans lets Dr. Behrens confirm exactly how many implants you need and build a detailed, personalised treatment plan.

2

Implant Placement

We fit titanium implants into your jawbone — a small surgery performed under local anaesthetic, with sedation available if you'd prefer.

3

Never Without a Tooth

If we're replacing front teeth, a temporary bridge or denture is fitted in the same session — you'll never be left without a tooth. The implants then heal for 3 to 6 months.

4

Your Permanent Teeth

Once healed, we take a mould and craft natural-looking porcelain crowns or multiple-unit bridges in our laboratory, fitting your permanent teeth in place of the temporaries.

Why implants

Implants vs Bridges

A conventional bridge requires your dentist to prepare the healthy teeth either side of the gap, using them as anchors. This can damage existing tooth structure and dramatically reduce those teeth's lifespan.

Dental implants do the opposite — they only benefit your existing teeth, relieving some of the pressure placed on them and standing entirely on their own foundation.
