Things to Expect

Overcoming the strangeness of having your braces off can take about… two seconds. Your photos will show a gorgeous smile — the only adjustment now is getting ready for all the compliments.

Maintenance

Your teeth may feel a little sensitive as they get used to standing on their own after the braces come off. This is completely natural and passes within a few days. Keep brushing regularly, and check with our orthodontist for advice specific to your treatment.

Retainers

You may need a retainer so your teeth remember their new positions — clear plastic, top or bottom only, or permanent (fixed in place). Our orthodontist recommends lifelong retention: for most patients, 2–3 nights a week for as long as you want to keep your teeth straight.

Spreading the Cost

The Behrens Dental Plan can spread the cost with 0% finance over up to 2 years, on a plan that suits you.
